Draco's Journey to Better Health

My Little Buddy Draco
Yesterday, my 5yr old Belgian Shepherd, Draco, was diagnosed with lymphoma. :(

Back story on how i should have caught it.
  • Week 1-he was drinking a ton and peeing all over the house-let me tell you this though, he is VERY well house trained and never EVER did this before, so I thought he was doing this to get attention, so I started putting him out more often...every hr....
  • Week 2- same thing but still annoying, thinking it might be a urinary tract infection.
  • Week 3- he stopped eating BUT his peeing and drinking was back to normal.
  • Week 4-he went a whole week without eating anything but an egg...he just wouldn't no matter how much I tried to get him to eat.
  • Week 5- same thing, but this time we bought a meat log,  made for dogs, from the store and he ate it all up! We were happy. But then he wouldn't eat anymore.
  • Week 6-7or so- we took him to a series of visits to the vet. Visit 1, he was tested for diabetes among other tests and the Dr eventually said that he might have a kidney infection, so we put him on those pills. Next visit a couple of days later, he lost a pound and the vet took him off the medication....3 days later for the latest visit, blood test was taken and we found out he has lymphoma.
  • The Vet said he might have 2 months at the most to live with Pred. which we put him on. I asked if she had ever seen an animal recover fully from this through natural means, she said she personally had not. To me this was a challenge to show her one.
Strangely, I was never worried once, I was hopeful. I was sad he was hurting, but God has him in his hands and it is ultimately up to Him, what happens to Draco.

On the way home from the Vet's office, I was praying continually giving Draco to God, rebuking the cancer, and hoping that God would let us keep him for a long, long time still. I also prayed that God would let me use the research skills he has given me, to find a natural way to help heal him.

Through 2 hrs of searching online, I found out about the Budwig diet for cancer. I immediately went to the library and found the books on it and to the store to buy the ingredients.

I gave him the Pred. that day to make sure he would start eating again....HE DID! duh...obvious results lol. Anyways...here is what I fed him that day.

  • Small licks of the cottage cheese+ 1 Tbs flax seed oil mixture
  • Small licks of "dinner"
  • 1 can of Tuna with 2 Tbs flax seed oil.
  • In the middle of the night, he ate his "dinner"- 1 C Brown Rice, 2 C veggies(green beans, carrots, corn, & peas), 3 Tbs Flax seed oil, 1 hard boiled egg, 1 grated carrot.
This morning:
  • 3 Tbs cottage cheese with 1-2 tsp Flax seed Oil.
  • 1 grated carrot+1/4 pear+2-3 tsp cottage cheese w/ 1tsp Flax seed oil.

So far this morning hes been happy, running around, and bright eyed:)
